All pricing and transactions on this website are stated in Australian Dollars (AUD). To ensure the security of your online contributions, all transactions are protected using 128-Bit secure (SSL) encryption technology. We are committed to using your personal information responsibly. Types of Donations & Fund Allocation
We welcome donations from individuals in various forms, including one-off donations, regular recurring gifts, and bequests. Your flexibility in giving allows us to plan for long-term research and conservation initiatives.
KRFA maintains the discretion to determine where donated funds are directed within its services to best achieve our mission. While we understand that donors may sometimes wish to designate a donation to a specific project, KRFA will use reasonable endeavours to direct that donation to the designated project. However, we are not obligated to comply with such requests, as this flexibility allows us to respond effectively to the most pressing research, welfare, and conservation needs as they arise. Donations of gifts in kind (non-monetary contributions) will also be allocated and directed as determined by KRFA based on our organisational needs and priorities.
Official Receipts and Tax Deductibility
KRFA can provide official tax-deductible receipts for approved monetary donations of $2.00 or more. For single, one-off gifts, donors will receive a receipt for each individual donation. KRFA respects the choice of donors to remain anonymous; however, in such circumstances, we are unable to issue a tax-deductible receipt to the donor as per Australian tax regulations.
Online Donation Security
Our website is equipped for online donations using a secure donation server to protect your financial information. While we implement robust security measures, it is important for you to be aware that there are inherent risks involved in transferring any information across the Internet.
When you make an online donation, we record essential donor details on our fundraising database, including your name, address, email, telephone number, and the amount donated. Our fundraising database is safeguarded by secure user IDs and passwords, helping to protect it from misuse, unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure.
Donations We Cannot Accept
In alignment with the ethical guidelines set out by the Fundraising Institute Australia code, KRFA maintains a policy regarding donations we cannot accept to ensure integrity and uphold our values. We will not accept a donation where:
There is a reasonable belief that the donor may be in vulnerable circumstances or lacks the capacity to make an informed decision to donate.
Accepting the donation would compromise the interests and objectives of our cause or our charitable status.
The administrative cost of accepting and processing the donation would be greater than the value of the donation itself.
There is reason to believe that accepting the donation may lead to legal disputes or litigation.
Furthermore, KRFA cannot accept funds that have been raised in a manner contrary to our organisational values or that may be perceived to compromise or contradict the vital work KRFA does for koala research and conservation.
